[Class 38 (i).J To prevent or suppress arcing in fuses, circuit breakers, &c. the following materials are employed : Potassium-permanganate, manganese-dioxide, potassium chlorate, baryta, sodium-peroxide, leadoxide, or mixtures of any of these substances. When the fuse blows oxygen is liberated and combines with the metallic vapour to form compounds having low conductivity.
