Abstract
359,295. High-tension switches. SIEMENS - SCHUCKERTWERKE AKT.- GES., Siemensstadt, Berlin. Dec. 18, 1930, No. 38237. Convention date, Dec. 19, 1929. [Class 38 (v).] In switches with nozzle-type contacts and a compressed - air blast for blowing out the arc, the movable nozzle electrode 13 which engages the fixed nozzle electrode 11 is provided with a break tip 15 and, in addition to the usual flow of air around the exterior of the movable nozzle from the blast pipe 20, an additional blast blowing concentrically on the break tip is obtained from the interior of the hollow movable nozzle. The pressure is admitted to the hollow nozzle as soon as the breaking movement commences by the exposure of the lateral borehole 21.
