March 31, 1931, No. 9753. [Class 78 (i).] In a system in which powdered material contained in a closed tank 1 is forced through a pipe 2 by compressed air admitted to the upper part of the tank by a pipe 4, the pipes 2, 4 are connected by a pipe 5 provided with a loaded Valve 6 which opens when the pressure of the air reaches a predetermined value. Byepass pipes connect the pipes 2, 4 at various points in order that compressed air can be supplied immediately in front of a clogged part of the pipe 2 to clear it. Each pipe has a valve which normally is closed.
