Abstract

1344985 Pneumatic conveyers C A E C HOWARD Ltd 19 April 1971 [24 March 1970] 14121/70 Heading B8A [Also in Divisions E1 and C3] The hopper illustrated in Fig. 1 is intended for the supply of appropriate quantities of expandable beads of, for example, polystyrene to the inside of a building block. Beads e are stored in reservoir 1 and conducted away from there by discharge tubes 2. Sleeves 3 connect tubes 2 with tubes 4 under which there is slide valve 6 with apertures 6a through which beads pass into the blocks via tube 7. The passage of the beads is assisted by air passing down air pipe 9 which terminates just above slide valve 6. The quantity of beads supplied is governed by a timing mechanism which shuts valve 6 and an air valve which governs the supply of air to pipe 9. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 1,252,562.
