Abstract
358,337. Vacuum cleaners. ELECTROLUX, Ltd., 153, Regent Street, London.- (Inventia Patent - Verwertungs Ges., 10, Herrenacker, Schaffhausen, Switzerland.) Nov. 18, 1930, No. 34700. [Class 8 (i).] The electric motor of ,a vacuum cleaner is cooled by an independent current of filtered air which then joins the suction current to pass through the fan. The motor 19 is mounted on an insulated ring 17 secured to posts 16 depending from a cover 11 containing the fan. A filter bag 25 encloses the motor 19 and is kept in contact with the base 35 by a funnel-shaped member 32 of insulating material, e.g. rubber &c., which isolates a portion 34 of the filter. The suction current passes from the container 10 through the filter to the suction opening 39 of the fan where it is joined by cooling air passing through holes 33, filter, and holes 37, 38 in the motor casing.
