PFEIFFER, P., 319, Krõherwaldstrasse, HAHN, L., 37, H÷lderlinstrasse, MAUZ, W., 11, Hermannstrasse, and FABER, E., 148, Zeppelinstrasse, all in Stuttgart, Germany. -(Assignees of Kaltenbach, E. ; 87, Forststrasse, Stuttgart, Germany.) Feb. 11, 1930, No. 4551. Convention date, March 9, 1929. [Class 8 (i).] In an electrically-driven vacuum cleaner in which the motor, fan and filter bags are mounted in a common housing, this housing is formed as an intermediate casing which is supported resiliently within the outer casing of the cleaner to reduce noise. In the form shown in Fig. 1, the motor and fan are mounted by means of a fitted seating member in the intermediate casing f, the filter bag c being included in this casing on the other side of the seating member. The casing f is supported in the outer casing e by rubber or other resilient rings l or by a complete jacket of insulating material m, Fig. 3. The casing f, which also may be made of insulating material, terminates in a flange f<1> at its suction end bedding on a rubber ring n which holds the flanged framing ring of the filter bag. A protecting cap p at the other end encloses the motor.
