Abstract

358,125. Turning - gear. SEARLE, F. G., 17, Warwick Street, and PERKIS, R. W., 61, Ripley Road, both in Worthing, Sussex. March 23, 1931, No. 15565/30. [Class 7 (v).] For supporting a starting handle on a motor vehicle not provided with a starting handle permanently mounted in the operative position, a plate 9 is provided on its rear face with a pair of parallel ribs or webs 10 for engagement in corrugations or channels 11 in a frame member 12 of the vehicle, a boss 8 on the front face of the plate 9 between the ribs being bored to receive the starting handle 1. As shown, the member 12 lies across the lower end of the radiator and is bolted to a chassis member 13. An abutment 14 on the handle shaft 3 is normally pressed against the rear face of the bracket by a spring 7, one end of which engages a hole 15 in the handle 1.
