Abstract

205,653. Read, H. A. Sept. 19, 1922. Hand-wheels, steering, for motor vehicles are formed with a major portion integral with the hub and a minor portion pivoted thereto to facilitate access to the driver's seat. The wheel may be specially made, as shown in Fig. 1, with a segment 5 pivoted at 7 to the main segment 1, or a segment may be cut from an existing wheel', as shown in Fig. X, and replaced by a fitting having a similar segment 5<c> pivoted thereto. The movable segment is secured in its normal position in the plane of the wheel by a bolt or bolts.
