Abstract

Hubs.-In wheels of the kind comprising an outer part A, Fig. 1, rotatably mounted on an inner sleeve B, which is non-rotatably secured to the axle and is detachable with the part A, the sleeve is rigidly secured to a part connected to the vehicle entirely by means situated at its inner end. The sleeve is provided with an extension D having lugs f adapted to enter recesses h, Fig. 4, in a bracket H which is fixed to the vehicle and to which the axle C is rigidly secured, and is held axially by a spring-pressed bolt i carried in a boss m on the bracket H which engages an aperture in one of the lugs f. When the pin is withdrawn, the projection r is raised clear of the notch q in the boss m and abuts on the outer end of the boss to hold the pin in its withdrawn position. Lugs v may be provided on the extension D, or on the cap E, or on both, for the attachment of the mud-guard stays.
