Abstract

358,016. Heating buildings. SANLAVILLE, C., 3, Boulevard du Montparnasse, Paris. March 24, 1930, No. 9375. Convention date, March 25, 1929. Void [Published under Sect. 91 of the Acts]. [Class 64 (ii).] Buildings are heated by the provision of air spaces 2, 3 through which hot air ascends and descends respectively, and a similar space 5 may be provided below the floor. Adjustable openings may be provided in the upper part of the building for the admission of air. The spaces 2, 3 may be continuous or may be adjacent conduits composed of superposed hollow bricks, and in a modification, a single space for ascending air only may be provided. Figs. 4, 5, and 6 (not shown) illustrate modifications of single and double conduits for use in a wall structure, and Figs. 7 and 8 (not shown) illustrate modified conduits for use in a floor. In Fig. 9 hollow bricks b<1> above and below a girder p have lateral openings by which the hot air may be conducted around the girder through the adjacent brick b. In a modification, Fig. 10 (not shown), the bricks may be shaped so as to provide a recess for the girder.
