Abstract

356,612. Connecting-rods. ENGLISH, T. C. and REBBECK, F. E., of Harland & Wolff, Queen's Island, Belfast Dec. 31, 1930, No. 39267. [Class 122 (i).] A device for limiting endwise motion of the gudgeon pin and leakage of lubricant into the cylinder comprises end-plates E fitting against shoulders in the gudgeon pin bosses B, and held in position by spring rings D1, D2, sprung into grooves in the said bosses. The ends of the ring D1 abut at J to form an oiltight joint. In another form, Fig. 4, the plates E are secured between rings D1, D2 and have rebated rims fitting corresponding rebates in the rings D1.
