Abstract

404,326. Spring wheels. DEANE, H. H. B., 46, Church Street, Rugby. April 14, 1932, No. 10712. [Class 144 (i).] Axially-movable plungers g are pressed into engagement with coned seatings k in the hub-flanges a by nested springs i,. j which are adapted to come into operation successively with increase of load. Two or more springs may be used with each pair of plungers, adjacent springs being oppositelycoiled. Fig. 2 shows a modification in which separate springs are fitted to each plunger, the inner ends of the springs bearing, through balls p, on a fixed thrust-plate m. As shown in Fig. 4, additional springs q may be fitted to take the torque stresses.
