Abstract

428,006. Stuffing - box packing. WATSON, J. W., Bridge Street, Philadelphia, and NOWALK, R. F., 7103, Woolston Road, Oaklane, both in Pennsylvania, U.S.A. Aug. 3, 1934, No. 22671. [Class 122 (v)] One or more rings 14<a> of rubber or other resilient material arranged between the flanges of a U - section leather &c. ring 12, are of greater normal width than the space they occupy whereby said flanges are pressed into contact with the housing 10 and shaft 11 respectively. The rubber rings are compressed and retained by a plate 15 and spring 16.
