Abstract

355,307. Winches. DEMAG AKT.- GES., Duisburg, Germany. March 22, 1930, No. 9281. Convention date, March 22, 1929. [Class 78 (v).] The motor 1, clutch 3, 4 and brake 5, 13 are in alignment, and the brake and clutch are controlled by the axial movement of the motor shaft and act alternatively. The cones 4, 5 are mounted on a shaft 2 carrying a pinion 6 which drives the drum 11 through gears 7, 8, 9 and a shaft 10. The gears are housed in a casing 12 which carries the flange for the motor and the bearing for the drum. The clutch is worked through a system of rods 14, 15 either by hand, mechanically, or electrically by a pushbutton 23. The motor controller is connected by a rod 22 to a longitudinally movable operating rod 20 which extends through the whole height of the warehouse in which the winch is in use. The rod may be arranged to actuate the clutch by a rotary movement. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) comprises also the subject-matter of Specification 357,319. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
