[Class 35.] The rotor 5 of an asynchronous motor comprises two or more T-shaped teeth or segments 7 of hardened steel between which are conducting bars 8 electrically connected by short-circuiting rings 9 at the ends of the rotor. The teeth tend to main synchronous rotation, but if two or four teeth are employed they should be arranged obliquely or skewed to avoid dead positions at starting. The invention is described in connection with a singlephase motor with a short-circuited coil surrounding a part of each stator pole.
