Abstract
353,179. Garment racks. CHRISTENSEN, A., 43, Vimmelskaftet, Copenhagen. June 11, 1930, No. 17974. Convention date, June 12, 1929. [Class 52 (v).] A pull-out and rotatable garment rack 12 is carried by a vertical shaft 8 rotatably suspended from a carriage consisting of a pair of parallel beams 3 connected at their ends by bars 4 carrying rollers 5, 6 engaging guide rails 2 attached to the sides of the wardrobe &c. To prevent the rack being rotated except when pulled out, a notched disc 16, rigid with the shaft 8, is engaged by a spring- pressed rod 14 which is locked by a spring-pressed bolt 19 slidably arranged on one of the rails 2. When the carriage is drawn out a projection 23 of the rail 2 engages a lug 22 on the bolt 19 to free the rod 14 so that the shaft 8 can be rotated. To prevent the carriage being moved back until the rack is correctly positioned, the end of the rod 14, when displaced, lies directly in front of projection 24 on the rail 2. In a modification the locking means for the carriage and shaft consists of a disc with a notched flange attached to the disc 16 and engaging a notched angle-bar secured to the wardrobe &c.
