Abstract

349,560. Reciprocating sieves, mould flasks, &c. REYNOLDS, M. P., 3121, Fairmount Boulevard, Cleveland Heights, Ohio, U.S.A. Nov. 19, 1929, No. 35378. [Class 117.] Screens 21, shown in the Figure, mould flasks and other apparatus having a vibratory or jarring movement, are mounted on the ends of resilient studs 13, 17 and are actuated by a stationary electromagnet 33, energized by an alternating or intermittent current, and an armature 31. The movement of the screen &c. under the action of the magnet is arrested abruptly by stops to produce the jarring effect, and the action of the supports may be assisted by spring buffers. Preferably the angle of inclination of the supports is such as to provide a horizontal component of movement about twice that of the vertical component.
