Abstract
349,519. Fusible cut-outs. CALLENDER'S CABLE & CONSTRUCTION CO., Ltd. and WILSON, A. E., Hamilton House, Victoria Embankment, London. Feb. 27, 1930, No. 6536. [Class 38 (i).] A fuse strip has end portions 5, for engaging the contacts of a holder, of one metal and a middle part 6 of another metal of lower melting point, united together as an integral strip, the middle part being of such a length as to provide for the opening of the circuit on fusing. The strip may be enclosed in a cartridge 7. Preferably the end parts are of copper and the middle part of silver. The middle part may comprise alternate silver and copper parts. The strips are made by welding bars of copper and silver, rolling the composite bar to strip thickness and cutting the strip transversely to the shape shown.
