Abstract
349,403. Condensers. NISSEN, A., 48, Fasaneustrasse, Berlin. Sept. 15, 1930, No. 27464. Convention date, Sept. 16, 1929. [Class 38 (ii).] In a structurally-combined inductance coil and condenser for use in wireless signalling &c., the condenser is formed of two parallel wires and its capacity is adjusted independently of the adjustment of the inductance of the coil. The unit is shown in Fig. 1 the inductance coil being formed of a single wire a<1> wound in spiral fashion and impregnated with an insulating compound. The condenser is formed of two parallel wires b spirally wound, the whole structure being rendered a self-supporting ring by the insulating compound. Adjustment of the capacity of the condenser b or of the inductance of the coil a<1> is effected by removing some of the wire from the unit. In forming the condenser, an insulating thread c is wound over one of the wires d, Fig. 4, which is then coated with paraffin wax or like insulating compound e. The other wire may also be covered by a spiral thread, but is passed through a hot bath of wax &c., so that as the two wires are wound jointly to form the unit they are held in place by the wax. A coating of lacquer or the like may be applied to the wire d and thread c.
