Inductances.-An inductance coil is made by winding wire an and out between pegs or supports p projecting from a base, the wire missing a number of pegs in each turn. Fig. 1 shows a winding in which the wire passes over two pegs, then under three, over two and so on. Other windings may be adopted by varying the number of pegs passed over and under. The pegs p may be at right angles or inclined to the base, and the coil may have a number of plain windings on the outside or inside. The Provisional Specification states that one or more fixed or adjustable condensers may be fitted inside or outside the coil.
