Abstract

238,560. Lovejoy, D. R. Aug. 14, 1924, [Convention date]. Inductances. - A multi - turn inductance helix has each arm formed by an odd number of circumferential sections alternating in distance from the centre with short cross-over portions, adjacent sections of successive turns being radially staggered and parallel and separated throughout their length by air. In one arrangement, Fig. 3, the coil is polygonal with short and long sections situated respectively on the outside and inside of the coil. In another arrangement, Fig. 4, the coil is circular. The turns are secured together where they cross by insulating cords 2, or the coil may be wound on pairs of upright pins carried by a base.
