Inductances.-Plug-in inductance coils particularly for use on short wavelengths comprise one or more circular turns of stout wire b on an X- shaped former preferably formed by cross strips a halved together at a. The plug-and-socket connection c does not touch the former but is secured to the wire b at a point between the strips a by adhesive or by thread binding received in a slot c<4>. The wire b is bare or covered or of tinned copper and the ends b<1>, b<2> are taken to terminals c<1>. c<2> without crossing. The coil may be wound on a temporary cylindrical formed with diametral slots to receive the strips a which have grooved ends to receive the turns b.
