Abstract
349,402. Taps or valves. LOCKYER, F. H., Browning Street, and DIGGLE, J. E., France Road, both in Napier, New Zealand. Sept. 12, 1930, No. 27306. [Class 135.] Independently-actuated supplementary valves.-A screw-down water tap is provided with a supplementary cut-off valve 1 held down in the open position by rods 7, 8 passing through apertures in the casing and engaged by the flange 10 of the gland 11. On removal of the gland the valve 1 closes on the under side of the seating 5 by the action of the spring 3. The supplementary valve is preferably of conical form, and the upper ends of the rods are rounded to avoid injury to the packing washer under the flange 10.
