Abstract
348,882. Mechanical shovels. BAMAG-MEGUIN AKT.-GES., 10, Reuchlinstrasse, Berlin. May 16, 1930, No. 15128. Convention date, May 29, 1929. [Class 68 (i).] A mechanical shovel for feeding material to a belt &c. conveyer is pivotallv mounted on linkage and reciprocated by an arm, the shovel being pushed into the material and then withdrawn up an inclined or curved guide and discharges on to the conveyer. A U-shaped shovelCis mounted ona a pivot b<1> on the end of a lever b connected by a link e to a fixed pivot f. A rod a is pivotally connected to the lever b and is reciprocated by suitable means. In the forward stroke an arm i on the lever presses against a stop ,g on the shovel and pushes it into the heap of material m. On the rearward stroke the shovel tilts over on its pivot and drags the material up an inclined guide d until the shovel rests on lateral arms r, Fig. 3, at the top of the guide, the material filling on to the conveyer k. At the commencement of the next forward stroke, the shovel catches against the end h of the guide and tilts over into position for entering the heap of material.
