[Class 87 (i).] A rectangular block, slab, or panel of the kind formed on one side only with a continuous flange longitudinally channelled on the outside is characterized by holes f for the reception of the bars g and lateral grooves h extending from the holes to the edge of the flange to allow the tie bars to lie flush with the surface thereof. When the units are assembled to form a cavity wall the two layers are spaced apart by the ties, which bridge the cavity. The units may be assembled to break joint, Fig. 4.
