Abstract

347,898. Cases or holders for cigarette cartons &c. WINEBERG, R., 33, Jessel Road, Walsall. May 15, 1930, No. 14913. [Class 18.] An open-ended case or holder for a cigarette or other box or carton of the drawer-and-shell type is formed from a sheet 1 of leather &c. adapted to be folded around the box A and secured thereon by overlapping flaps 2, 3 and is provided with a clip element consisting of an attachment limb 4 having a free end with a return member 6 or inturned part by which the box shell is held in the case. As shown the limb 4 is hingedly secured to the case by a rivet 5 and the member 6 engages between the bottom of the drawer of the box and the adjacent side of the shell ; a stop 7 may be provided to abut against the drawer and prevent its movement in one direction. The limb 4 may be attached at one end to the case and its other end may be inturned to form a terminal hook engaging the edge of the shell or the metal of the free end of the limb 4 may be struck up or displaced to either side of the limb to form one or more tongue pieces to engage the edge of the shell or the bottom thereof.
