412,655. Cigarette &c. cartons. HILL, G., New House, Risbury, near Leominster, Herefordshire. Jan. 19, 1933, No. 1759. [Class 18.] A cigarette &c. carton a, Fig. 2, having the cigarettes arranged in two or more rows is provided with means for presenting part of the contents for easy withdrawal, such means consisting of a strip c, Fig. 4, of thin card of a width slightly less than the thickness of the carton and of a length slightly greater than the combined lengths of two sides and bottom of the carton, the strip being scored transversely along the line d spaced from one end of the strip a distance equal to the length of the carton and along the line e spaced from the line d a distance equal to the width of the carton and being divided longitudinally from the other end of the strip to a point f between the first end and the line d; the strip is disposed in the carton with the undivided end lying against or secured to a side of the carton, or to the drawer of a drawer and shell carton, with the divided parts extending across the bottom and up the other side of the carton with the projecting free divided ends f, g of the strip folded down on to the cigarettes. The end f, g may be of different lengths to facilitate either being gripped by the fingers when it is desired to raise part of the cigarettes from the carton.
