Abstract

A composition especially intended for moulding hat-blocks comprises the magnesia cement described in Specification 243,197,[Class 70, Indiarubber &c.], (magnesia, magnesium chloride solution and siliceous material), pumice powder, and sawdust, fibre, straw or shavings. A small quantity of rock alum may be added to accelerate hardening. In an example equal parts by volume of the cement and pumice powder are mixed to a thick paste and two parts by volume of the fibrous filler are added.
