Abstract

192,205. Osborne, W. A. Nov. 9, 1921. Plastic compositions containing fibres and oxychlorides.-Tanning bark, sawdust, wood flour, or a mixture of these materials, is mixed with calcined magnesite, magnesium chloride, and glue, and the composition is moulded into sheets, blocks, mouldings or like building units. Preferred proportions of the ingredients are 2 parts by weight of tanning bark, 1 part each of coarse sawdust, fine sawdust, and wood flour, 2 parts of calcined magnesite, 1¥ parts of magnesium chloride (sp. gr. 1.235), and 2 parts of liquid glue. The Provisional Specification describes also the use of cork and asbestos as filling ingredients.
