Abstract
A coloured coating-composition comprises 1 part by weight of casein glue, 1-10 parts of water, colouring matter, and 0,2-2,5 parts of a powdered or finely granulated organic substance of non-mineral origin which is insoluble in water and which stabilizes the colour of the composition by taking up the colouring matter. Up to 6 parts of lime, chalk or other fillers may also be added. Suitable organic materials are sawdust, wood flour, cork and waste leather. When first mixed the composition yields a porous coating, but if the composition is allowed to stand before use, the coating obtained is non-porous.ALSO:A coloured composition for use as an adhesive, coating or moulding material comprises 1 part by weight of casein glue, 1-10 parts of water, colouring matter, and 0,2-2,5 parts of a powdered or finely granulated organic substance of non-mineral origin which is insoluble in water and which serves to take up the colouring matter and stabilize the colour of the composition.
