Abstract

Fragrant compositions of matter comprise (a) a mixture of 1,1,6-trimethyl-6-hydroxy-1,2,3, 5,6,7,8,9 - octahydronaphthalene and 1,1,6 - trimethyl - 6 - hydroxy - 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8 - octahydronaphthalene; (b) a mixture of the foregoing compounds with 1,1,6 - trimethyl - 6 - hydroxy - 1,2,3,4,6,7,8,9 - octahydronaphthalene; and (c) either component of (a) in admixture with other odoriferous or non-odoriferous substances. Reference is also made to a composition consisting of mixture (a) together with a - and/or b -dihydroionone. Specification 794,416, [Group IV (b)], is referred to.
