Abstract

345,244. Stop valves. BOWLER, T., 396, Windsor Road, Vancouver, Canada. Dec. 18, 1929, No. 38755. [Class 135.] Lift valves; closure members; repairs, facilitating.-A stop valve com. prises a detachable and reversible flanged seating ring 13 secured by a flanged screwed ring 17 providing space for expansion and lateral selfadjustment of the seating as the valve member closes down upon it. A selfadjusting valve member is constituted by a ball 26 held by claw fingers 23 rotationally secured to the screwed valve spindle 8 by a head expanded into an undercut recess in the end of the spindle. The spindle is packed by material 11 enclosed between a washer 12 and a gland cap 10. Specification 325,443, [Class 135, Valves &c.], is referred to.
