[Class 126.] Air supply for combustion.-A stove for supplying heating gases to baking ovens and other heating apparatus, more especially of the type in which the gases are recirculated, comprises a metal firebox a in which is a relatively small fire-basket e with ample air space between the two, the air supply for the stove being conducted round the firebox and then into it and round the fire-basket; the air and combustion products pass by a flue d to the tubes or other conduits of the circulating or other system. The arrangement allows a comparatively low temperature to be maintained in the firebox. In the construction shown, the firebox a is surrounded by a heat non-conducting casing i and air entering at k passes to the back of the firebox between baffles m, whence it returns to the front and, after passing through grids l, enters the box, in part through inlets g and in part through an inlet with a flap closure b controlled by a thermostat h. As shown in Fig. 5, the inlets may comprise tubes g<1> extending to any depth required, and the outside ends of which may be furnished with dampers. In some cases the tubes may enter the firebox from the bottom.
