[Class 64 (i).] In a water heater having a'horizontal furnace flue a, the part of the flue behind the furnace space a1 is formed deep depressions d, Fig. 3, forming water-filled baffles directing the furnace gases through the flue in a sinuous course. Movable baffles are provided in the rear of the flue. A baffle may be screw-shaped and may engage in helical corrugations in the rear of the flue. The flue may be secured by rings b1 screwed into the boiler walls. In a radiator stove, sliding dampers n, Fig. 7, may be moved into openings in the waterfilled baffles d at the rear of the furnace flue. Specification 336,389, [Class 126, Stoves &c.], is referred to.
