344,389. Blocks for building and lining shafts and tunnels. O'ROUHKE, J. F., 17, Battery Place, New York, U.S.A. Dec. 2, 1929, No. 36872. [Class 87 (i).] A curved block for erecting tunnels, conduits, and the like is provided with recesses a at the top and corresponding projections at the bottom. On the inner face it is provided with a screw threaded through hole c, an L-shaped hole b emerging about centrally of the base, and two truncated pyramidal holes d to facilitate lifting by the prongs of an erector. The outer and inner edges of the curved surfaces and one end of the blocks may be rebated. For rounding curves in the tunnel, the recesses a are made slightly wedge-shaped. Blocks B, C of special shape for the party all between two tunnels are shown in Fig. 13.
