579,690. Building blocks. SMITH, W. A. May 23, 1944, No. 9910. [Class 87 (i)] A building block having a vertical hole 7a is provided on its upper and lower faces with a rib 2 and a corresponding recess 3 and on its end faces with a rib 4 and a recess 5 each formed with a groove 6. Grooves 8 in the upper and lower faces of the blocks connect the holes 7a and grooves 6. Undercut grooves may be provided in the vertical edges of the front and back faces of the block to receive pointing.
