Abstract

344,264. Fluid-actuated valves. WERKSPOOR NAAMLOOZE VENNOOTSCHAP, 62, Oostenburgermiddenstraat, Amsterdam. April 10, 1930, No. 11474. Convention date, Jan. 30. [Class 135.] Check lift valves. -A non-return valve particularly adapted for use on compressors for internal - combustion engines comprises a cylindrical seat 3 having a series of circumferential slots 6, and adapted to co-operate with a series of curved slotted valve members 8. In manufacture the slots in the seat are made continuous, vertical bars being afterwards inserted in vertical slots to provide seats for the sides of the valve members. The valve members are constructed from a single ribbed ring, which is divided into the several valve members after machining. The valve members work on a central guide pin and are supported at the lower part by a guide surface 11 on a flange 12. The flat surface of the seat may be slotted and fitted with a slotted valve 15 which may be partly supported by a spring. The slots in the seat may be vertical in which case the ends of the slots are closed by countersunk rings.
