Abstract

343,746. Ventilators. GAUNT, C. F., Warstone Parade Works, Birmingham. Feb. 20, 1930, No. 5659. [Class 137.] Relates to ventilators for helmets and other headgear, of the kind comprising a portion of substantially wheel shape and a cover portion, the wheel portion comprising a number of radial spokes and an outer rim, and an outer flange coaxial with the wheel, and consists in connecting the spokes to the wheel rim and flange by turning or closing the rim over the ends of the spokes. The usual internally threaded tube 1, Fig. 3, is, preferably, integral with the spokes 3, which may have longitudinal strengthening ribs 6, and may be cranked. The usual outer coaxial tubular flange 4 has an extension 5 at right-angles to the part 4. This extension is turned or closed over the ends 3 of the spokes as shown in Fig. 1. The ventilator has the usual cover 7 secured to a screw-threaded member 8 engaging the tube 1.
