Abstract

228,466. Windover, W. L. S. Sept. 5, 1924. Wheels with non-supporting casings enclosing spokes.-A covering disc 8 is held against the inner spokes 11 by screws 10 engaging rods 2 on a conical ring 1 which is clamped to the outer spokes 4. A coned disc 15, fitting over the outer spokes 4, has a flanged edge 15<a> to engage the rim, and an inturned flange 15<b> which seats against a conical ring 12. The ring 12 fits over the hub and receives a threaded collar 16 to hold the disc in place. To prevent the ring 12 from creeping, it is fitted with strips 14 engaging the spokes as shown in Fig. 2.
