Abstract

343,451. Cigarette &c. containers. L'ENFANT, C., 524, West 169th Street, New York, U.S.A. Sept. 18, 1929, No. 28331. [Class 18.] A container for cigarettes &c. consists in one form of sections A, B, Fig. 2, hinged by a flexible strip hinge at 24 and with an article holder C secured in the part B in such a way that both in the open and closed position the holder projects into the part A, the distance between the hinge 24 and the corner P of the holder C being if desired such that during opening of the container the corner P engages frictionally with a wall 12 of the part A to constitute a yielding stop in opening the case. The sections A, B are also retained in any desired position by frictional engagement between the side walls of the holder C and the sections A, B. The top and bottom are rounded. In another form shown in Fig. 6 the holder E is secured to one of the sections and a stop 38 is provided to limit the opening. In another form shown in Fig. 8 the hinge 61 is carried on a member 53 secured rigidly in section I, and a gap 63 in wall 62 is provided for opening the case by pressure of the finger. A flexible member 65 may if desired be provided to restrict the opening. In another form shown in Fig. 10 the sections are hinged at 67 and the opening movement is restricted by a flexible member 73.
