Abstract

773,233. Boxes. YEOMAN, R. H. Oct. 4, 1955 [Dec. 1, 1954], No. 34798/54. Class 18. A cardboard box has a tongue attached to the rear wall of its hinged lid, the tongue engaging under a tray or article in the box when the lid is opened to tilt it into a display position. In one embodiment, the tray is removeable and has a lip 18 for engagement by the tongue 10. A circular wall forms a recess 15 for the contained article. In another embodiment, Fig. 4 (not shown), the tongue is also attached to the tray. In a further embodiment, the tongue 26 extends beneath a removeable member 33 carrying the article, and is secured to the box base. When the lid is opened the tongue folds up on hinge lines 28, 29 to display the article.
