[Class 83 (iv).] In vertical extrusion presses the receiver is axially displaceable to a sufficient extent to enable the block to be pressed to be placed between the receiver and the die. A press comprises a press cylinder 2 in one with the framings 1, 3. A receiver 4 is raised by pistons 5 of the cylinders 6 to enable the block to be inserted between it and the die, the receiver being then lowered over the block.
