Abstract
342,223. Wire resistances. GILL, H, A., 51, Chancery Lane, London.-(Steatit-Magnesia Akt.-Ges. ; 18, Breite Strasse, Pankow, Berlin.) May 5, 1930, No. 13782. [Classes 37 and 38 (i).] Between a resistance wire b wound on an insulating core a and a cap f forming a terminal is disposed a metal casing c which may be slit or formed in two parts and is provided with an end wall d which prevents it from sliding over the wire when the cap f is placed in position. The wire is wound on the core and the casing c placed over its end. Varnish &c. may then be sprayed on to the wire to form a coating, or it may be covered with enamel or glaze. The caps f are then placed in position. When varnish is employed it may overlap the edge of the casing c and be forced back by the cap and trimmed off. When the core a is of synthetic resin pieces of metal may be moulded into it against which the wire is pressed by the casing c so as to ensure good contact.
