Abstract
342,112. Securing brushes on shafts. NEWSHAM, W. J., Manor House, Middleton Road West, and LUNN, L., 5, Thatch Leach, Broad way, both in Chadderton, Oldham. Jan. 18, 1930, No. 1790. [Class 80 (ii).] The cylinder A, Fig. 2, of a cleaning-brush for a Heilmann or Nasmith combing-machine is mounted on the driving-shaft D by a tapered ring B arranged between the cylinder end a and the metal sleeve C, and on contraction of the cylinder A the ring B is forced along the tapered end a by a spring F, whereby the brush is maintained concentric with the sleeve C and shaft D. The ring B is provided with external projections b<1>, Fig. 5, engaging longitudinal grooves c in the sleeve C, its inner face b being tapered to correspond with the ends a, the parts e engaging diametrically-opposite slots a<1> in the cylinder ends. The part E, Fig. 5, may if desired be formed separate from the actual ring B. The sleeve C may also be formed in two parts.
