Abstract

341,982. Carding-engines. HALLAS, H. W., 7, Greenhead Road, Huddersfield. Oct. 29, 1929, No. 32772. [Class 120 (i).] A condenser roller A, Fig. 1, for a condenser carding-engine has secured to its ends, flanged collars E so that the rubbers B are supported along their entire width, while annular grooves D are formed to accommodate studs C projecting inwards from the rubbers. Only one row of studs need be formed on the rubbers, in which case only one annular groove D is required. The roller may be formed with a tubular extension on which the collar is secured. When the end of the condenser roller is formed as a reduced portion a<2>, Fig. 3, a collar E<1> of a shape to fit on the end is employed to form the annular groove D. New condenser rollers are made longer than the width of the rubbers. and are made with the annular grooves D ready formed.
