341,260. Steam-heated drying cylinders. EVANS, J. W. W., The Hollies, Manchester Road, Swinton, Lancashire. Jan. 10, 1930, No. 930. [Class 34 (i).] A drying cylinder has its doll-head bearing packing comprising a non-rotatable white metal ring c engaging the axle end, backed by a resilient ring g and a metal ring h which is urged forward by the spring i. The spring compression is adjusted by the screw ring e<2>, and the whole is supported on the sleeve e carried by the head a. In a modification the ring g is completely enclosed by the metal rings c and h.
