Abstract

340,706. Steam turbines. AKTIEBOLAGET LJUNGSTRÍMS ANGTURBIN, 17, Võstra Trõdgardsgatan, Stockholm. Nov. 11, 1929, No. 34412. Convention date, Nov. 24, 1928. [Class 110 (iii).] In radial flow steam turbines in which the blades are fixed between ring bonds 11, 12, the finished blade ring is given a tension so that the blades 10 receive a deflection. The object is to counteract the effect of centrifugal force when running. The strain may exist in the blades or in the ring bonds. In Fig. 8 the ring bonds 11, 12, are conical, but are held in cylindrical form by clamps 18, 19, while the blade roots 15, 16 are being threaded into them. Modifications are described in which a dovetail instead of a threaded connection between the blade roots and the ring bonds is used. Specification 314,993, [Class 110 (iii), Turbines &c.], is referred to.
