Abstract
339,109. Young, T. L. Nov. 29, 1929. Seat - guards. - In a machine for making a closet reat covers preferably from crepe or tissue paper, the paper passes from an adjustably mounted d and frictionally braked supply roll between pairs of rollers 7, 8, Fig. 2, and 12, 13 to a winding spool 37. The roller 7 carries printing type 17 co-operating with a platen on the roller 8, and the roller 8 has a serrated knife 28 co-operating with a blunttoothed knife on the roller 7 to form lines of perforations A, Fig. 4. The type is inked by rollers 20, 21 supplied by intermediate rollers from an intermittently rotated roller 25. The rollers 12, 13 carry male and female dies to make curved cuts 34, 35. The rollers 7, 8, 12, 13 are geared together and to a main shaft, and the spool 37 is also driven from the shaft by gearing including a frictional connection. A counting device and means for stopping the machine when a predetermined amount has been wound on the spool 37 are provided.
