Abstract

1447077 Embossing M FEI 7 Nov 1973 51769/73 Heading B6J Strip-form paper or cardboard is moistened, embossed, and then dried. Material A is unwound from a spool M by a drive roller 2, and passed through a tank 4 containing water. Excess water is removed by rollers 5, and the web is passed through a chamber 6 so that the wetting becomes uniform. The web is embossed by rollers 7 and dried with hot air and possibly cold air in a chamber 8, and after trimming by rotary cutters 11 and cleaned by a brush 12 is wound on to a spool 14.
