Liquids treating with.-In order to avoid creasing in scouring, dyeing, and other liquidtreatment processes of textile materials, for example cellulose acetate or other cellulose esters or ethers made by dry-spinning processes, wherein the materials are treated in folded form such as in winch machines, the materials are first wetted out thoroughly in open width form. Wetting out agents, such as soaps, sulphonated soaps, saponin, alkyl-, aralkyl- or hydro-arylsubstituted aromatic sulphonic acids &c. may be used. The preliminary wetting-out treatment may be combined with other treatments, reduced lustre effects being produced, for example, by conducting the wetting-out treatment with soap solution at a temperature above 80‹ C.
